Chimpadeedoo just released an Android version making it even easier for storefront owners, musicians or artists of all types to build an email list, in person, even if there is no Internet connection.
“Ever since we released Chimpadeedoo for iPad, an app that helps you collect new subscribers from your tablet, many of our customers have been waiting for an Android version. If you’re not familiar with Chimpadeedoo, it’s an easy way for store owners, bands, and people who set up shop at trade shows or festivals to build their mailing lists. We’re happy to tell you that Chimpadeedoo is now available on Google Play for Android devices (and of course, the iPad version is still available on the App Store)….” [Continue Reading]
I bet you didn’t know you could create multiple disposable e-mail addresses with Gmail. Well, now you do! It’s a great way to protect your inbox from unwanted SPAM.
“If you add dots (.) between the letters of your Gmail username, sending an message to the new username will get forwarded to your original email (which is without or with only 1 dot.)
It doesn’t matter how many dots you’ll add between your username, all of the emails sent will go to your original email. Gmail provides another great explanation:
Gmail doesn’t recognize dots as characters within usernames, you can add or remove the dots from a Gmail address without changing the actual destination address; they’ll all go to your inbox, and only yours. In short:
All these addresses belong to the same person. You can see this if you try to sign in with your username, but adding or removing a dot from it. You’ll still go to your account.
Why is this helpful? Let’s say you want to sign up for a particular newsletter but you’re afraid of spam. Then you can modify your email with the dots so in case you start getting unwanted messages, you can use Gmail filters and send every message your ‘new’ email receives to spam directly…” [Continue Reading "6 Things I Bet You Didn't Know You Could Do With Google"]

The gap is creating an opportunity for companies like Reamaze, which takes an approach that combines CRM with customer support.
Co-Founder Lu Wang says the touch has to be a bit different with small businesses. Small businesses do not talk about CRM but rather about how to keep customers happy, how to get new ones and how to keep that business flowing in the 24-hour, seven-day-a-week Internet world that we live in. He said they designed the service for people who have no clue what an ‘instance’ is or ‘virtualization’ means or whatever developer/enterprise lingo it may be…” [Continue Reading]
I’m guilty of having an optin box in my sidebar and at the bottom of each blog post.
I thought this was the best way to generate optins, but now Clay Collins has me wondering if it’d be better to bury the optin form a layer deep and make it a two step process. It’s definitely worth testing.
