I stumbled across this great article the other day and just had to share it with you all. I know it’s hard to believe that something as small as your headline can have such a huge impact on your bottom line, but it’s about time you started believing. Your headline can indeed make our break your offer.

“They say that if your web site has a bad opening headline you’ll loose over 50% of your visitors in the first few seconds after they arrive at your home page. Headlines are the most important part of a web page, but what constitutes a good headline?
In today’s article I’m going to list the top 12 best direct response headlines ever created. How do I know these are the top 12 headlines ever? Simple. I read this article. I’ve written quite a few headlines over the last few years. Some worked and some didn’t. The headlines below have sold hundreds of millions of dollars of products over the last 50 years, and best of all you can adapt each of these headlines to suit your own business.
1.‘They laughed when I sat down at the piano – but when I started to play!’
This is *the* most popular headline of all time. It has been used in direct marketing to sell millions of dollars worth of products, but what is it about this headline that makes people keep reading? I think it’s the anticipation. As a reader you ask yourself ‘well, what happened when he sat down at the piano? Did they like what he played? What song did he play?’. This makes you want to keep reading to see exactly what ‘they’ did when ‘he’ started to play the piano. Can you use anticipation to build curiosity in your headline?
2. ‘They grinned when the waiter spoke to me in French – but their laughter changed to amazement at my reply.’
Again, the use of anticipation. ‘What was her reply?’ you ask yourself. ‘If they didn’t think she could speak French, then what country was she from?’. When I see this headline I picture a group of mature aged women sitting around at a fancy restaurant with a waiter by the side of the lady who replied in French. How can you use visual imagery to create a killer headline for your web site?
3. ‘Do you make these mistakes in English?’
When I was writing our most recent newsletter I decided to give this headline a try. ‘Do You Make These Mistakes When Attracting New Clients?’ is the headline I chose. The headline is followed by a paragraph about our web master secrets email course. I think when you see this headline you immediately ask yourself ‘What mistakes is he talking about? What if they are costing me and my business money?’ This headline is easy to flip and use for business. Can you flip it?
4. ‘Can You Spot These 10 Decorating Sins?’
Similar to headline #3, this headline provokes thoughts of embarrassment. Obviously this headline would’ve been used in craft magazines targeted to female homemakers, but what you do you think the inner monologue of a reader would have been when she saw this headline? ‘Decorating sins? I’ve spent so much time decorating the family home. I hope I haven’t committed any of these decorating sins. Let me read on just to make sure.’ What ‘sins’ might your potential customers be committing? Can you use this headline on your web site or in an article?

Now that smartphones outnumber desktop computers, and text messages outnumber phone calls and emails, it’s crucial that you’re utilizing the proper SMS marketing technologies to stay top of mind with your prospects and customers.
I’m not advocating that we stop marketing via email since it is still an effective communication tool. I’m advocating that you incorporate SMS text message marketing into the fold because 95% of text messages are read within’ the first 15 minutes. Whereas with email you’re lucky to get a 20-30% open rate.

“I was recently asked by one of our readers for my thoughts about the ongoing innovation and adoption of Mobile Email and its impact on businesses that work exclusively with SMS-based Mobile Marketing.
In my opinion, I don’t think that Mobile Email will have any significant impact on the growth of SMS-based Mobile Marketing. Instead, I think that SMS will prevail as an interactive marketing channel. Although mobile access to email is a growing trend, email is still an overwhelming medium. People are flooded with irrelevant emails and spam, and as such have become de-sensitized to this channel. Text-based marketing has advantages for the following reasons:
1) Text Messaging has more immediacy with mobile phone users than email, since emails are generally reviewed in batches, whereas SMS messages tend to be viewed as they arrive. Marketing messages received via email are almost immediately classified by the user as spam or junk, and users don’t generally look at each email as it arrives. Instead, they will read their emails in batches when they have some time. If the opportune moment for a message has passed, the message is no longer relevant.
2) There is a limit on the length of a text message – a limitation that tends to serve as an advantage. This limit allows mobile users to consume the message more quickly. We’ve learned that the attention span of users is getting smaller – they want ‘snacks’ vs. ‘meals’ when it comes to information (the same
reason that Twitter has gained so much popularity)
3) There are stricter guidelines that govern the distribution of SMS messages to consumers, and although they are merely guidelines, the Mobile Operators tend to enforce them. Therefore, mobile users can opt out of messages they don’t want to receive (thus filtering out unwanted messages more effectively). Opting out of emails can be more difficult and doesn’t always work – hence the success of Junk Mail filters.
4) The ability to have a quick dialog with a consumer – again, due to the short messaging nature, and the immediacy of an SMS, it’s easier to reach the consumer at the right moment and to have a quick dialog that is relevant and beneficial to both the consumer and the retailer.“

We all know that building an email list of customers and prospects is crucial for building a business offline and online. Here is some great advice to ensure that your email messages reach the inbox of your subscribers. If because afterall, if your messages aren’t getting through then what’s the point of building a list?
Sam Weber from Genius.com writes:
“Deliverability is a measure of the percentage of your email communications that are delivered to a recipients’ inbox. As a Marketer, a high rate of deliverability amplifies your marketing efforts and ensures that people interested in hearing from you receive your emails.
While 100% deliverability is the goal, it’s challenging to achieve and requires a multi-faceted approach.
List quality
List quality and list management is a significant topic in its own right that deserves high priority in your email marketing efforts. It’s important to understand that email addresses ‘churn’ at a rate of 30-40% per year as users move ISP’s, change employers, or change email addresses in an attempt to avoid spam. Equally important is being aware that some users will sign up for a newsletter or other collateral using an old or bogus email address or will request to opt themselves out after a period of time. Also, email addresses can be accidentally mistyped (e.g. name@yhoo.com)
Unmanaged lists or previously un-contacted recipients pose a high risk of bounces and complaints.
As a sender (and to comply with anti-spam laws), it’s important that you actively manage your contact lists. Well-managed lists will result in fewer bounces, fewer complaints and increased delivery to the…”

Times are tough for a lot of people right now. This is why it is crucial that you work smarter instead of harder. Below are a few ideas to get you started making money on-line using your website or blog.
1. Promote a product-One of the easiest ways to get started making money on-line is by becoming an affiliate of a particular product and then using your website or blog to promote it. Becoming an affiliate simply means for every product you are responsible for selling, you get a commission.
Your job is to send folks to the affiliate website which will then work to sell the visitor the product. It can be hard work, but once you get the hang of it, you can make some consistent money using this technique.
2. Build a list-This goes a long with promoting a product, but takes it one step further. You see, it’s a proven fact that most people will not buy what you’re selling upon first visit. However, if you’re offering something for FREE then many more people are going to take action, even if it means they have to enter their email address.
This of course gives you the opportunity to follow up with your prospect via email and build a relationship while simultaneously soft-selling them, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on your bottom line.
3. Sell Advertising Space-Website traffic is valuable, and if you are getting lots of visitors to your site, businesses will pay to get in front of that crowd. Simply charging others to advertise on your site is a great way to monetize your online efforts. Banner or text ads sell easily on website that has consistent traffic.
4. Promote Yourself-If you offer professional services, another great way to monetize your blog or website is to sell yourself. Let others know about what you do and how you can help them. Many people have used their personal blogs and websites to develop significant client bases just by showcasing their talents and services and letting others know how they can be hired.
5. Charge Subscription Fees-A website worth visiting on a regular basis just might be one worth paying for. Depending on the type of content you are offering, your core audience may wish to pay to become an exclusive member of the site. This can be done by offering upgraded features that are only available to those that pay and will help to give paying members the feeling of being in a special club. A membership based website can, in time, turn into a significant source of ongoing revenue. Keep the content fresh and active and your members happy and reap the rewards!
6. Build it, Sell it!-Some people like to have the job done FOR them…so, building a website or blog and developing regular traffic and then selling the website or blog is a great way to earn money on-line. Depending on how in depth and content rich the site is coupled with how many regular visitors it gets will determine the price but websites that are built and sold regularly command thousands of dollars to interested buyers.

Business processes that can be automated without damaging brand or customer relations, should be automated. It’s a no brainer really, which is why we should be all over this sweet feature Aweber comes packaged with. It basically allows you to easily keep in touch with your email list by inserting your RSS feed and having automatically blast messages to your list which highlights your blog content. Check out these instructions on how you can set this up for yourself!
JohnChow Writes:
“The blog broadcast feature found in Aweber is a great way to create ready to send email newsletters to update your readers on what is happening with your blog. The blog broadcast allows Aweber to take the contents of your RSS feed and turn it into a newsletter that summarizes the past few days or posts that were written on your blog.
When Aweber first released this tool, their thinking was that it would be a way for you to get email subscribers back to your blog to read your post, comment on it and take any other actions you wanted after getting to your site. So they designed the broadcasts to include partial blog posts and not full posts.
While partial posts have worked well for many, some users may want a way to include full blog posts directly in the emails. This would be useful for bloggers who don’t update often. Because blog Broadcast waits for a set number of posts before sending, readers could be waiting a long time between broadcast.
For example, if you write one post a week and don’t send a broadcast until you have ten posts, your newsletter subscribers will have to wait ten weeks for each email. You can cut the number of posts between emails to increase the mail out frequency but then the newsletter won’t look like it has much content since all the posts are short summaries.
By sending a full post blog broadcast, you can cut the number of posts shown in each email, increase the frequency of the mail outs, and maintain the look and feel of a full-blown newsletter. Here’s how to do it…
